I don’t have a gaming console at home, but I do love racing games. I have good memories of staying up super late with the guys (brother, brother-in-laws) during Christmas vacation and playing a car racing game on a PlayStation over and over again. Real Racing brings this to my iPhone, and I couldn’t be more impressed. I’ve tried several racing iPhone apps, but I always go back to Real Racing as the app with the best graphics and best user experience.
Real Racing gives you several different options for handling the driving, you can push the gas and the brake yourself, or have it done automatically, or several different combinations.
With lots of levels, tracks, and cars to choose from, its one of those few games you will play over and over again.
Enjoy Real Racing for just $6.99!

It’s been a while since I’ve downloaded a new iPhone app and really enjoyed it. Tiger Woods PGA Tour really surprised me, it’s a very fun golf game, and it is challenging enough that you keep coming back for more. You can create your own player, skin color, t-shirt, and gender! You can play your own player or play Tiger Woods or a number of other PGA Tour players.
One of the best parts of the game is the reaction of the players, whether you make a good shot or go in the rough, it’s fun to see the different responses. Many of the same responses I probably make when I golf!
It takes getting used to, so don’t expect to hit even par on your first round. ALTHOUGH I DID GET AN EAGLE!
Chipping seems to be my next challenge to conquer, and putting is a bit mysterious still.
If you’re a golfer like I am, or just like fun games on the iPhone, I think you’ll love Tiger Woods PGA Tour!

Ping Pong is a classic game that everyone has to love, whether you’re good at it or not. When I saw World Cup Ping Pong for the iPhone (at just 99 cents!) I had to try it out, the screenshots looked really sweet and it had great reviews. I’m really glad I got it, and I was surprised to see that they had two player game play! I love showing people the two player game play of my air hockey, and now I have another game to woo them with! You’ve got to try this game for yourself, it’s a blast. There’s definitely some tricks to learn because I’m still not beating opponents, but I think I’m getting the hang of it.

There are very few iPhone games that I go back and play more than a few times, and Flight Control is one of them. It is very addictive, and makes me want to try again and beat my high score. The game is amazingly simple, you draw a path for planes and helicopters to land at the airport, and make sure they don’t hit each other!
Make sure you turn the sound on, that really helps you keep track of planes getting close to each other! There are two runways to land on, and a heliport to land helicopters. An additional twist is that there are different size planes that fly at different speeds, so it can get tricky really fast!
Flight Control is one of those games that you have to have, it’s a blast. And hey, it’s only 99 cents!

Remember back to the days when you had one computer program on the computer at school, and it was “Oregon Trail”. Any chance we had to play that game we took it, it was a blast. Now, back to being a big kid! Fortunately Oregon Trail is now available on the iPhone!
Oregon Trail on the iPhone is better than ever with great graphics, fun adventures, and tons of fun games along the way! Hammer nails into a moving plank, catch fish (and boots!), shoot squirrels and rabbits (and more when you get practice!), navigate your wagon down the rapids with accelerometer controls, and tons more I haven’t even discovered yet.
I’m excited to let my 7 year-old play this classic game and have so much fun just like I remember. Well worth the $5.99 I just paid for it!

I’m pretty picky when it comes to games, and most games I won’t play more than once or twice. In the last week I’ve found myself sneaking in a game of 2079 in spare moments because since downloading it and playing it just once, I love it. And for 99 cents, you can’t beat the price for a great game on your iPhone or iPod Touch.
2079 uses the tilt control of your device to move the ship and does continuous fire with direction controlled by your right thumb. Even with continuous fire, this game is challenging, especially when you suddenly get 20-30 “bad guys” coming at you. For these moments, shake your device to blast them all at once. Shoot the question mark blocks and uncover invincibility, additional lives, double or triple guns, barricade blocks, and more. 2079 keeps your high scores so you can always try to beat your previous high scores.
It’s too bad there are a bunch of poor customer reviews for the game, don’t let the rating sway you. I have to admit when I first looked at the game (before playing it), it looked pretty silly. But once I tried it, I love it, and I think you will too!
Download 2079 for just 99 cents!

I must be getting pretty picky with my iPhone games after my Batmobile iPhone game review. SpaceMonkey has great graphics and looked fun (and I think I got it for free over Black Friday). The intro video is entertaining, sets up the plot for the game of a monkey that has to pick up trash floating in space. You have to dodge batteries or do a super spin to get them away, and if you spin too much the bananas you just ate come out in your helmet (more cute than gross visually).
It was entertaining and I played a few rounds, but I think it would be more liked by my kids, easy enough they can do it without getting frustrated, and the graphics again are sure cute.
Download Space Monkey for $1.99, the kids will definitely like it

I like a good, challenging, addictive game. The Dark Knight: Batmobile Game is not one of them. The graphics are pretty cool, but not much else. You get to touch the screen when the game signals you to, tilt to get your plane right for a “perfect” landing, and you only get one course. Maybe we can help Warner Bros out a little with some suggestions:
1) A game should be challenging. Let me steer, let me have enough road time to get into the game.
2) A game should have levels. There is one course on this game, and the only “challenge” is to touch and tilt when you’re told to? Makes the bonus round sound REAL fun.
3) At least have a leaderboard. Sure I can email my score to my buddy, but then he’s going to be like, that game is lame. Let me at least go against everyone else who bought the game.
Going live with a “marketing department” game like this is silly, and it hurts you more than helps you. Back to the drawing board, and make a real game please.
Download for 99 cents if you don’t believe me

SciFly is like a flight simulator, but without the endless buttons and controls, and you get to shoot everyone else! I really enjoyed playing SciFly, there are various planets and planes, some of which are unlocked to start. You can “lock on” to the enemy jets but sometimes they still elude you, which makes it fun. You can even crash into the ground or a mountain if you aren’t careful!
Some things I’d like to see: (1) If I close the game, don’t make me click all the buttons again, I just want to play where I left off. (2) When I “roll” I want to really roll, like Top Gun!
Overall it’s a fun game, I think you’d like it!

Personally I play very few games on the iPhone, and lately in any spare minute I find myself with eReader reading a Brad Thor novel. But… this app has games that definitely have some “addictiveness” to them, and I had a hard time not loading more puzzles to play.
There are 15 different types of games, all with limitless numbers of puzzles, so you’ll never get bored! Some of the games I liked more than others, but with 15 to choose from you’re bound to find several that you like.
Rectangles: To play this game you make rectangles in the size of the number, with one number per rectangle. The whole board is algorithmically created (so much in fact you supposedly never play the same board twice?) so all the rectangles fit together to fill up the board. Boring? Actually not! There is definitely some strategy that you pick up after the first few puzzles, and then its really a time and strategy game after that.
I love the daily puzzle that lets you compete against everyone else in the world, and ranks you in terms of how long it took you to finish your puzzle. I’m ranked 21 for the day! You can see global scores for all the games at PuzzleManiak.com.
A great set of games, always a new challenge, and its great for your brain too! Well worth the price, it’s like getting 15 iPhone apps (including Sudoku!) for the price of one!
