Twitterrific - Best Twitter App on the iPhone
[Update - I think Tweetie is the best now... ]
I’ve tried them all, but Twitterrific (free with ads or $9.99 no ads) wins as my favorite Twitter App on the iPhone. It’s simple, has a great interface, and does what I need. I’ve used the Desktop version on my Mac, but I like Twhirl more than that, so until Twhirl comes out with an iPhone app, Twitterrific is the app of choice for using Twitter on the iPhone.
You can easily see tweets, replies, direct messages, and send out your own tweet from the chat icon in the bottom navigation. With a quick touch of the “location” icon your location is updated with your latitude/longitude coordinates. Twitterrific can also take a picture and include a twitpic link in your tweet, although this has crashed the app for me a few times.
Until Apple gets the push API out to developers and onto the iPhone OS, you will only see tweets come in if you have the application open, but this isn’t any different than any other apps, like MobileChat or the free AIM app.
If you don’t mind the ads, try the free version of Twitterrific or buy the paid version of Twitterrific and support those developers!

Best Twitter app on the iPhone? I beg to differ. I recently switched from Twitterrific to Twinkle because I was tired of watching it crash all the time. Twinkle has been great. Much more stable than Twiterrific and the UI is nice as well.

granted, a nice app, but you’ve got to love Palringo, the instant message client.
Supports sending instant snaps to friends, just like twitterific.

Twinkle kills both Twitterific Free and Paid. Check it out!

You may want to test more than one iPhone Twitter app before declaring it the “best.” Twinkle roundly beats Twitterific.

I have tested all of the Twitter apps, including Twinkle. I still think Twitterrific wins hands down, Twinkle isn’t as well designed, in my opinion.
